Bolzano How do I pass the time with an infant?

Help!

My husband is attending a conference in Bolzano in June 2006 and wants me to come along with our nine month old baby. Please can someone advise me what I can do for five whole days with a small baby and not much cash!

Bolzano / Bozen can be seen in about 1 day. Visit castel ( castle )Roncolo / schloss Runkelstein, the many beautiful villas in or near Bolzano, and the duomo. ( see my Bolzano page for other ideas ). Take the very inexpensive Regionale ( local ) trains to nearby fascinating destinations such as Bressanone / Bixen, Trento, Rovereto, lago di Gardo, Arco, dolomiti mountains, or even Verona. None of these take much time to get to. See my VT pages about some of these places. These pages are lonely with so few readers.

ciao !

The conference will probably be at castel Mareccio and villa. The castle adjoins Bolzano's excellent and large city park. The park would be a good place to take your child.

Do some windowshopping under the porticoes. There are many beautiful shops under porticoes there.

Visit Trento. It is one hours or less from Bolzano, by train.
