Which are the prices? - Just ask on the island.
Where could I buy the tickets? - Travel/ferry agents on harbourside.
Where could i see the timetables of excursions? - Just look around Adamas harbour in the evening, prices/times are on blackboards or in the travel/ferry agents on the harbourside.
directly in adamas harbour? - Yes.
I've read that some boats start the trips from Pollonia.. - There is a ferry boat to Kimolos from Pollonia roughly 1 per day depends on time of year, just look near the quay.

Milos Island RE: daily excursions from milos

There are 2 kinds of daily excursions, both well worth considering: a) sailboat excursions, b) larger vessel around-the-island excursions. All of those daily cruises commence in Adamas. There are none that I know of in Pollonia. The small ferry that commutes between Milos (Pollonia) and Kimolos 3-4 times a day is not part of a daily cruise.

The sailboats generally go up until Kleftiko and back. They stop in 2-3 beaches along the way (usually Triades and Sykia) to allow for swimming/snorkeling and cooking on the beach. Some sail daily, while others only after fully booked (usually by a large party of up to 8 people.) The cost is higher, 30-60 Euros, but there are fewer people on board. See one of my "Sports" tips on Andromeda yachting for a good example.

The larger vessels make the entire round of Milos. They make short stops on most points of interest, and stop in Kimolos for lunch. You see more and the cost is generally less, 20-30 Euros, but you may feel crammed as you share the deck with 100-200 other people.

The boats generally sail from the port of Adamas between 8 AM - 10 AM and return right before or after sundown. Tickets can be obtained either in a travel agency during the day, or right at the boat. Most sailboats have representatives right outside the boats on the dock until about 12 midnight every night. In July and August, it is highly recommended you book your trip as soon as you set foot on the island, as these daily cruises are extremely popular, and justifiably so, and they may be fully booked 3-4 days in advance.

Andreas' recommendations:

Larger vessel for the round of Milos: Captain Yangos

Sailboats: Andromeda, Chryssovalandou, Eleni, Kirki

Actually, Andromeda is the least expensive of all sailboats. Last year, Andromeda's fare was 30 Euros, the lowest of them all, and competitive to the Round of Milos fare of the larger vessels. The other sailboats charge 50-60 Euros.

if the price is 30 euro is ok, but if i'm not wrong they sent me an email times ago (unluckily i've not kept this email) writing that the price is 50 euro...and 50 euro is too much for me! :(
also because, lunch is included...but i DON'T eat fish , so for me that lunch will be unuseful :(

You are correct. A couple of years ago the Andromeda rate was 50 Euros with a seafood cookout-on-the beach meal included. Since then, Andromeda changed its strategy. They now have the lowest sailboat fare at 30 Euros (may even be less this year) but no seafood is included. It's a bring-your-own-lunch type of deal, although they do offer snacks and refreshments along the way.

Milos Island RE: Andromeda daily excursion - Milos
Posted: Tue May 16, 2006 05:38 AM UTC
Andromeda sails from 10-7-06 to 31-8-06 from Adamas, Milos. The daily cruise departs at approximately 10:00AM and returns at about 7:30PM.

The fare is 30 Euros/person and includes snacks, beverages and fruit served along the way.

Andromeda visits places only accessible by boat and tours sea caves and other points of interest with a 12-person capacity dingy. Andromeda itself is a 17m. (57ft.) long sailboat, 5m. in width with comfortable seating and a maximum capacity of 49 persons, even though it rarely takes more than 30.

Reservations are encouraged 3-7 days in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the dock in the evenings up until 12 midnight every night. You may call Capt. Nikos at +30 6944555593 or visit their web site: www.andromedayachting.com .

You pretty much know it already. :) Andromeda makes a couple of stops, usually Triades and/or Kalogries, where guests are allowed to swim, and then Sykia and Kleftiko. She does not usually go up to Gerontas, and no other sailboat does to the best of my knowledge, during their regular trip. Guests get off at either Kleftiko or Sykia or both, weather permitting, to explore the caves and such, before getting back on Andromeda for the trip back to Adamas.

During the few days when there is a strong northern wind, Andromeda (just like most other sailboats) modifies her trip somewhat. She sails from Provatas and tours the south part of Milos, shielding her guests from the wind and the associated waves. It is only then that an approach to Gerontas is made, along with Kalamos (Gerakas), Kipos, and Kleftiko.

The road to Embourios is rather bad, indeed. Up until Agia Marina the road is paved, but from that point on it is not, and it is kind of rough. A scooter is definitely not recommended, especially if two people ride on it. I tried it myself a few years ago, and had to stop and go back after just about 100 meters or so, having damaged the scooter in the process. Only an SUV or an enduro motorcycle can safely negotiate that road. Larger passenger cars may make it as well, but with considerable wear and tear to the sides and underbody.

There is no regularly scheduled boat from Adamas to Embourios. You may, however, hire a boat especially for this purpose, or piggy-back on another group of tourists that may have hired the boat. Of course, there is always the odd person (like me) who'd go to Embourios by bicycle, even though s/he may have to get off and push the bike along most of the way after Agia Marina. :)

The road situation may soon change drastically, however. Every year a few roads are being re-paved or simply reconditioned. This year it may be Embourios' turn to get its road fixed. You never know. :)
