Hello, i need a bit information about Wageningen but i don't know where to ask as i don't have any idea where it's exactly located and belong to what province ? Rough location i see on the map, it's quite close to Utrecht. Thanks!

I have a couple of friends living in Wageningen so i come there pretty often.

Its about a half hour east of Utrecht.
By public transport: train to Ede, then 10 minutes by bus to Wageningen.

Wageningen is a nice town, home to the agricultural university. Universities always mean a lot of students so also a pretty decent nightlife. Lots of bars, clubs, cinemas etc.

The area is also pretty nice. Close to "the hoge veluwe", the Netherlands biggest national parc. A really nice area for cycling and walking.

But er....not really any nice diving spots in the area :-(

Wageningen is South of Ede and located on the river Rhine. It's province of Gelderland and I must be excused for not finishing this page yet, as I still haven't got the pictures from liberation-day that is celebrated here in a huge way.

From Utrecht it's about 20 minutes by train to Ede and on by bus to Wageningen. More questions? Feel free to ask anytime.

Dunnoooooooo, i gave u offline once, dunno u got it or not. How u been ? I comin to NL !!!!!!!!! i got scholarship in Wageningen University for August 2003 but dunno how i could handle Dutch, lol. If things get ok, i will be there in August! Hope things ok with you, or you are into something enthrallin' : *wink wink*

Congratulations with your scholarship here. This university is worldfamous and therefore most colleges are given in English. And then outside school you can speak English as well, almost all people know Dutch, English and German or French (if not both of these last mentioned languages). But … I hope you'll try Dutch as it will show good intensions to us people. We fairly dislike people that ignore our language, especially as we are always trying to adapt to others.

Anyway, I am little curious in which field you are going to study at the LUW (Landbouw (=agricultural) University Wageningen), can you tell me? This intrest because I sometimes have to organise excursions in our laboratory (www.blgg.nl) for groups from the LUW and just recently I had an international group to show around.

Well, hope you keep being as enthousiastic as you showed in the last e-mail and if further questions … you know where to reach me.

Hi Paul, thanks for your response of my email. I will be taking Leisure,Tourism and Environment program in Wageningen University.
And know what, i am already planning to take Dutch course this month (wish me luck....wish me luck..!!!). Well perhaps you would arrange excursion to our group too this year !! ;-)
Actually i have no idea what Wageningen look like as very few pictures showing on the website..Is it mostly landscape or it has town? Is it crowded with people of is it low populated ?
Pffffft, so many questions in my mind, curiosity of course..but i think i gotta be patient waiting till i come there and see myself !
