Does anybody know of any campsites at or near Tavira? Especially ones with cheap cabins.

On the Tavira island. From the town of Tavira, take the ferry as to go across the marchlands of Ria Formosa. 15min ride. Then the sea and camsite is on the island. I do not know if it has cabins.

The campsite in Tavira island is very good but I don't think they have any cabins to rent.They do have camping tents of several sizes to rent,though.I don't recommend camping in Tavira in July and August because it's too crowded. Late May, June and September are the best months to camp there. The closest campsite to Tavira with cabins to rent(at least to my knowledge)is the Orbitur(http://www.orbitur.com/en_Home1.html) campsite in Ilha da Armona, wich you can reach by ferry-boat from Olhao.
