| Austin | Looking for retirement spot Posted: Mon April 3, 2006 03:16 AM UTC
I am currently 43 years old, single and planning on retiring in the next 3 years. I am looking to relocate in or around the Austin area. Can any-
one recommend a nice section of the city that's safe, has public utilities and where home prices are around $250k to $350K? |

Lago Vista on the North side of the lake is nice.

You're too young for Sun City, and you'd probably want to stay around younger people anyway since you're in no way old.
Yeah, anything near the lake is nice, and you should be able to find something pretty decent in your price range. Maybe also look into Lakeway, which is also very nice. There is plenty of stuff in the city, but you may be relegated to a much smaller house in the nice neighborhoods. Have you thought about a condo or loft? You'd get way more bang for the buck.
