I have just been assigned a teaching position in Tokushima. I was expecting Osaka or Tokyo and Im worried I will be bored in Tokushima. Are there plenty of things to see and do in Tokushima and is it easy to get to other cities like Osaka for the weekend?

Check out the link above. I assume you are talking about nightlife...you are probably going to have to go to Osaka for that, but easy on the train. You shouldn't be bored once you get to know the area and in the long run will probably prefer to stay where you are for your "fun".
