Hi, I am going to Lagos for a few days in April and I am flying into Lisbon but I can't figure out how to get to Lagos from there. Are there buses and trains that go directly to Lagos?

you have direct busses several times a day.
it takes about 4-5 hours. you can also go by train, but will usually need to change trains once on the way to lagos.

In my opinion, the train is the best option.It's faster and much more comfortable and you can even peacefully enjoy a drink or a snack on the inboard caffe while the train smoothly wanders through beautiful portuguese landscape. Get on the Alfa-Pendular(faster) or the Intercidades train on Oriente train station. You can choose between 1st or 2nd class(it's about 5EUR difference). You'll only have to change train's in Tunes(Algarve) and it doesn't take that long(10 minutes). The portuguese railway company website in english is http://www.cp.pt/cp/displayPage.do?vgnextoid=87cbd
