| Lugano | Lugano Paradiso Posted: Thu March 23, 2006 09:54 AM UTC
Hi, I am thinking of coming to Lugano for a holiday at the end of August. I found a hotel reasonable priced, and seems ok. It is situated in lugano paradiso. Can anyone tell me in which part of lugano is paradiso situated? Thanks

hi
it's where most hotels are located. however it's the red-light area of lugano. I guess its safe enough at night - but definitely not hassle-free. It's completely safe and hassle-free during the day. If you are travelling with a man I would say, go for it. If you are traveling alone or with other women, I would opt for something more central. Let me know if I can help you. There are some other reasonably-priced hotels much better located. Ciao Rhia

Lugano Paradiso has an own train station, and as far as I know it is more or less directly at the lake.

hi...
why don'y u have a look at these hotels? they are all centrally located http://www.attuale.com/pestalozzi.html http://www.walteraulac.ch http://www.hotel-international.ch http://www.hotel-stella.ch http://www.hotel-federale.ch I have seen the first three hotels, as I had some aquaintances staying there. Pestalozzi is quite basic but it's the cheapest u can find - as far as i know. I have never been inside the other two but they have always been "here", so I guess they can't be bad. I hope this can help. Feel free to email me if u need any info or whatever. I'll ask around to see if anyone knows about other hotels Smiles from Lugano I hope u'll like it here... Rhia

We stayed at the International a few years ago and loved it. Great property, very nice rooms, good central location and never had a problem walking the area at night. There is a resturant in the main square called Olympic or Olympia. You must have dinner there. They treated us great and the food was wonderful. We ate there both nights we were in town.
