Palm Springs Good Vacation Rentals - Areas to choose or avoid?
Posted: Tue March 21, 2006 11:46 PM UTC
Hi

We're looking to rent a house and pool for a couple of weeks in July - any views on good realty people to contact, areas to choose and areas to avoid?

.... as a base to visit California is there a better place for good value accommodation?

Appreciate any views!

Thanks

Mike

PS - is Palm Springs very windy in summer?

The wind is usually through the I-10 corridor and much calmer behind the mountains

You do know that in July the temperature in Palm Springs will be in the low 100s (38 to 45 C).
The northern part of PSP is the windy part. Rent south of Vista Chino to avoid the wind. The wind is bad since it blows sand in the pool (and you).

Condo rentals can be seen online at http://www.vrbo.com/

You will find great deals that time of the year. Also look around Palm Desert. My mom used to live in a golf community called Ironwood and they had rentals. You might see if you can find at rental agent.

Use good websites such as vrbo.com or www.yourlatitude.com or cyberrentals.com. Be careful with some of the bad one where owners do not upodate their info.
