| Lincoln | Heathrow to Lincoln Posted: Tue March 21, 2006 08:09 PM UTC
Hi people,
Are you able to offer some assistance? We are arriving at Heathrow Airport on Malaysia Airlines in July and require transport to Lincoln. Any ideas?? We were hoping to arrive stright into Humberside Airport howevere KLM are the only airline to do this and they are booked out. Does anyone know how easy it would be to get train or aflight to Humberside/Linclon? Thanks |

Get the tube to Kings Cross and take the train. I think you will need to change at Grantham.

Could you fly to the new Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster from Heathrow? If you could you could then just take a short train ride on a Doncaster to Lincoln train. If not its any north bound train out of Kings Cross that stops at Newark Northgate - change here for Lincoln but you have to cross the town centre to go to Newark Caslte station to pick up a Lincoln bound train. If you get off at Grantham you would take a Skegness bound train and change to a Lincoln train at Sleaford. Check times carefully though because the service is not great. Try www.centraltrains.co.uk for times and also www.gner.co.uk.

www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you train times and fares. The airport referred to is usually called Nottingham/ East Midlands in airline pages(I think the 'Robin Hood' title is very new) , code EMA. It's fairly small, but if you do get a flight there the airport pages will give you transport links. Wherever you land, expect a long-ish onward train journey, with change/s. It is possible that there might be a coach from London Victoria (or Nottingham, if you land at EMA). This will take longer, but may be much cheaper and pssibly worth investigating. www.nationalexpress.com for times and fares.
