| Denpasar | Vacation in Bali Posted: Sun June 1, 2003 01:25 PM UTC
I'll be in Bali during August 2003 and it's my first time. I would appreciate if someone could advise me if it's better to book accomodation on the net or book directly when I get there. Are there many budget accomodation in Bali near the beach, any recommendations?
I would also appreciate meeting fellow VTers travelling to Bali during that time, anyone? |

Hi we have been to Bali 4 times from Perth and have stayed several times at the Flora Beach in Kuta. It is clean, basic, cheap & includes breakfast. Check the net there are some excellent bargains to be had.

hi my name is sari. i am balinese and i would advise you to book accomodation directly when you get here. coz there are so many choices of places to stay here which are pretty cheap and comfortable. you'll have many options to chose what's your vaforite spot. if you like surfing, you can choose to stay in kuta or nusadua. i ever took my german friends to stay at tanah lot hotel, kuta. it's cheap and it takes only 5 minutes walk to the beach. it's also close to the fantastic night life party and yammy restaurants where you can hang around with other travellers from other countries. if you want to stay in silence place and mix with villager, you can choose ubud village or visit my village at penatahan village where you can find nature hot spring water from batukaru mountain.
but for your convinience, you'd better come ro bali not at late night coz by the time you arrive here, you need to choose where to stay. but most of traveller starts it from kuta and then start with other plans. i can offer you with other choices but it depends on what's your interest about. sometime small hotel doesn't have online homepage to booked or if you book via travel agent , for sure, it may cost you expensively. i guess this month will be not that busy so you can book to the hotel at anytime you wish.i would be glad to assist you with futher information. you can email me as well at : gek_rik@hotmail.com i reply any questions regarding your plan to visit bali. it's not that humid today in bali. i wish you will have a fantastic trip here.

It's too bad that you wan to stay near the beach. I stayed in Ubud in the central highlands in a nice village called Penestanen(sp?). It was lovely within walking distance of the town and art centers and temples. Also the north has lovely black sand beaches, Lovina beach. It is quiet and wonderful.
