Hi, Going to Kruger in August, doing a tree day drive then staying two nights in Gomo Gomo lodge in the Timbervati area. Has anyone stayed here or any info on the area in general would be appreciated. Thanks Trish

Hi I did Kruger National park 24 years ago & I must say as a 14 year old at the time it was probably one of the best experinces I have ever had.
We did a 3 night day trip through Kruger entering at the north and travelling south, stopping overnight at camps called Punta-Maria & Shingweizi.
Please make the most of your time in Kruger, because if you have half as good a time as I had you will have great memories that stick with you for life.

You would have more luck in searching the internet for information if you spelled it "Timbavati"

Hi,
we have stayed at Gomo Gomo and loved it. Timbavati and Kruger share an unfenced boundary. Gomo Gomo itself is probably one of the cheaper lodges in the area but that is not to say anything about its service, food or guides. The accommodation is nice and comfortable in a lovely setting by the river but not as luxurious as the more expensive camps. The service is excellent and quite personalised. The food is fantastic and dinners at night around the fire in the boma are a terrific experience. The general day goes: Personally woken up before dawn and given tea/coffee and rusks. Head out at sunrise on game drive for 3-4 hours in open topped vehicle Stopping for more coffee/rusks mid way through. Head back for proper breakfast then free time before lunch usually of meats and salads etc. After lunch a game walk for those up to it - well worth doing! or just free time to read or take a dip in the pool. Then its time for the afternoon/evening game drive. Your guide will ask what drinks (soft or alcoholic) you would like on the drive for 'sundowners'. In winter it gets cold so rug up.
Then back for dinner around the fire with silver service! We saw elephant, lion, wild dog, giraffe, buffalo, leopard and cub and much more!
