| Córdoba | Parking and driving Posted: Sat March 11, 2006 05:55 AM UTC
Hello,
I will be in Cordoba in June this year for one day and I have a question related to parking and driving as both seem to be the problem there. The travel guide I read recommends we park the car outside the old town as it is easy to get lost and difficult to find a spot to park. The problem is, if I park the car outside the town and I book the hotel in the old town, how do I get from parking to the hotel. Taxi? That doesn't make sense to me. Has anyone travelled to Cordoba with a car and what was their experience? Thanks, Srechko |

When I visited Cordoba a couple of years ago, I had no problem to park my car by the train station (free of charge) and then I just walked around. The city is quite compact and totally flat, so unless you are extremely unfit (or lazy!), walking should not be a problem.
Good luck.

Thanks very much,
No I love to walk especially around towns like Cordoba however not with 30 kilos of luggage on my back. I managed to book a hotel with parking so I should be fine - as long as I find the address. Srechko

I parked along the river when I first arrived... walked into the old town and found a great little hotel that offered parking.
It was only about a 5 minute walk to find the hotel and they gave me great directions to get there w/ my car. It is quite the maze in the old town and many of the streets looked like they wouldn't fit a car... but they amazingly did! You should have no problem finding a place. It's pretty simple. You can walk over to the Tourist office near La Mezquita and they'll have a list of great hotels that offer information on parking, # of stars, etc. Have a great trip!
