Hello
This may be a silly question, however, I've just found a really cheap flight from Ireland to Karlsruhe and would like to know how far would I have to travel to go ski-ing - well more specifically snowboarding. I have a 13yr old son who would love to do this, and given the airfare (£28 return) if there was anywhere relatively close I would consider taking him in April. thanks for any advice, Jacqui |

April is mostlikely too late for the skiing in the Black Forest. Thus you'll have to head to the Alps.
Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (aka Baden Airpark) to Interlaken needs mostly 4:21. DB timetable http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en From: Baden Airpark To: Interlaken Baden Airpark to Baden-Baden is EUR 3,00 (for your) + 1,50 (for your son) Baden-Baden to Interlaken Ost is EUR 68,00 + 0,00 Interlaken is in the Bernese Oberland, which is (to my estimation) the closest area with safe skiing in April. http://www.berneroberland.ch/navi/winter/home.htm Interlaken itself is not really a ski resort, rather a railway know and "base camp" for this region.
