| Cadiz | Long stay accomodation in Cadiz Posted: Tue February 28, 2006 07:49 PM UTC
Hello everyone!
I am currently studying Spainsh at university and in September I will be moving to Jerez for about nine months as part of my course. I am having no luck in finding any reasonably priced long-stay acomodation! Can anybody point me in the right direction where the best places to look are? I would possibly like to stay with other English or Spanish students. I would really appreciate all your help. Thank you, Jenny |

Hi Jenny,
Where have you been looking? I live in Jerez, and I can say that these days it would be very difficult to find accommodation for less than 250€ approx for a one bedroom flat, but the other factor that may make things difficult for you to find a place to live is that people that rent out flats usually have availability as of June or July, you may be looking a bit early if we are now in March and you want to find something for September!! September and October are the best months to find places, particularly shared flats as that is when everyone is returning to begin the fall term. In Jerez, you can either try buying a copy of Cambalache and looking for the "compartidos", or checking the photocopy places in Jerez, particularly the ones on Calle Porvera. This is right next to the Faculty of "Empresariales" and "Bellas Artes", so a lot of students tack announcements looking for flatmates. Another option: I need someone to look after my house (in Barrio San Miguel) in exchange for a lower rent, if this option interests you, I'd be glad to talk to you about it....check my details for contact info.
