Travel from northern Nigeria into Niger

Hello everyone,

Has anyone ever travelled overland from northern Nigeria (the Kano/Katsina region) into Niger?

We are hoping to do just that in April, and so we are wondering whether there are particular border crossing points to observe, or any other logistical circumstances of which we should be aware.
