Queenstown Moving to Queenstown
Posted: Fri February 24, 2006 06:12 AM UTC
My best friend and I are moving to Queenstown at the end of April for about 6 months. I've been on a few real estate websites but haven't seen too many places available in town (that isn't 5 star!!). Does anyone have any pointers on getting accommodation? Plus, any tips on buying a car? Are there better deals in bigger cities like Dunedin or are the local bombs good enough?

Would love to hear anyones comments (on anything and everything Queenstown if you've got time!).

Hi Girls, I am flying into queenstown in the middle of June and am in the same boat. I hope to get 2 1/2 months boarding out there, but have pretty much the exact same questions as yourselves. If you get any good feedback you might pass it onto me. I'll do the same.
Cheers,
Lorcan

Well girls, Queenstown is a wonderful place! Accommodation is hard to come by, unless you are rolling in it! So to speak. Boarding would be your best option. Winter is a very busy time of the year there and alot of people book there accommodation months ahead, whether it be Hotels, Houses to rent or Boarding. As for the car situation, look in Dunedin or invercargil at the auctions thats the cheapest option. Queenstown has grown considerably, i went there about 7 years ago and have since moved close to Queenstown it is amazing how big its got! I now frequent Queenstown on a regular basis, as there is no other City/Town that compares! (Im originally from Auckland).

Will you be working there?

Hey girls,

My best friend and I are doing the exact same thing coming from Canada! I arrived today and am staying at a flat in the city, she gets in from OZ on saturday. There are some beautiful furnished homes available with several bedrooms but it's hard to find a place just for 2 friends. If we want to have a look at some places together (the four of us) we should be able to get something really nice! If you're interested, e-mail me at annamariek@gmail.com or give me a call 0211648704

Cheers!
