Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock) Ayer's Rock Two Night Tour
Posted: Tue February 21, 2006 12:16 PM UTC
Hi, I'm looking to book a tour starting at Ayers Rock Airport ( most of them seem to pick you up at the airport at 1pm)and ending at Alice around early evening after a night at Uluru and a night at Kings Canyon. We want to stay in fixed tents rather then swags or hotels, and there are 3 of us, so we want to avoid single supplements if possible. I've tried a few but havn't found one that meets our needs. Can anyone help?
Thanks

HI! Mate:

Most tours are based in Alice Springs since Yulara (the artificial town created to house visitors to Uluru National Park is not a true residential town).

A fellow VTer asked some questions with regard to Mulgas Tour quite some time back. I have no idea whether they will cater to your plan. You may want to check them out.

THanks, most of the ones I've seen do start at Alice, but they then pick up at Uluru at 1pm. We arrive at Uluru at 12.20pm, and I assume that the trips are designed to fit in with the flights. Unfortunately, some don't run on the day we land, some are sleeping in swags with no facilities and some are expensive hotels. I'm trying to find a balance. The one you mentioned just does day trips.
Thanks again

I emailed this comapany for someone else and they do tours from Uluru.
They have 4/3 and 2 day tours.

If I remember rightly, they do either camping or you can upgrade to hotels.
Kings Canyon has a YHA accommodation/camping and then a more expensive hotel/motel.
I got a very quick response from my email.
Hope this helps.
Fingers crossed for the cricket tickets:)
Cheers

Thanks again Anne, you're my guardian angel. A good friend of mine e mailed me today. She has family in Adelaide. One of her relations played a lot of cricket and has connections in Sydney. He's going to apply for tickets for Sydney for us on the first of June. I'll check out these sites tomorrow. Thanks Anne.

Some would argue about me being an Angel:))
You will surely get some tickets with all the imput over here.We might end up with a few spare ones..lol
If you can't find a tour the drive from Uluru to Alice via Kings Canyon is a good one. You only need a car, not a 4x4.

I will keep in touch
