Its by Siam Sq. and is 7 or 8 stories tall. There is a large japanese department store attached to it and hundreds and hundreds of every sort. If you need it it will be there.

MBK (Mah Boon Korn) - 6 floors shopping complex with lotsa small shops selling assorted goods, from jeans, sport shoes, handicrafts, copy bags, computer hardware, to handphone accessories. Everything you can think of. It is crowded especially at weekend, lotsa bargain (in fact, bargaining everywhere in Bangkok).

They have a supermarket "TOPS" at the basement, a food court at 6/F, good value. Also, it attached with TOKYO department store, lotsa choices of valued orioginal branded stuff. Check it out!
Address: MBK Center, Phatumwan
Directions: 2 mins walk from BTS National Stadium Station.

Yeah, what they said.

You can basically walk into it from the BTS station platform. It's got all kinds of stuff. It's a decent place to shop if you're wanting to get away from places like Chatuchak and horrendous amounts of tourists. There are a lot less tourists and a lot more normal people there (not that there's anything wrong with tourists, of course). There's also a theater on the top floor if you want to see a movie while you're there.

I took my folks there when they came to visit from the States. They absolutely loved it and bought quite a bit.

Hi,
All above is right.
The department store is a little down market compared with say, Zen at the WTC or the Siam centre shops.
The food court is excellent, plus there are many other restaurants on the top floors.
We've found it good for children's clothing, cheaper electronics, mobile phones and lower end jewellery/watches.
Should definitely be on the list of shopping spots in BKK.

Hi Les -

Lots of good info already - just thought I'd mention that I have a picture of it on my BKK page if you're interested.

You can't really miss it from the Skytrain - you can walk from either Siam or National Stadium stations - as it has "MBK" in huge letters on it!
There's also a hotel in the complex - the Pathumwan Princess, as well as a food court and cinemas....

Cheers,

Jeremy
