| Amalfi | Almafi or Positano? Posted: Thu February 16, 2006 12:52 PM UTC
My husband and I be travelling to the Almafi coast in early October to celebrate our anniversary. We plan to spend a couple of days in Rome then to either Almafi or Positano to use a home-base to explore the area for 4 days. Should we stay in Positano or Almafi? We want picturesque and romantic as well as convenient - is there such a thing?

Definitely Positano. Much more romantic than Amalfi. Amalfi is overrun with tourists and schoolkids. Positano is much quieter, more relaxed and much more beautiful than Amalfi. You can get a Sita bus from Positano to Amalfi or Sorrento, both about 1 hour away, both trips have amazing scenery.
