Lijiang Travel Forum

I've seen numerous nice pictures of Lijiang and I would like to bring my folks there 1 day. Hence, I would like to find out when is the best time to travel there and whether is it possible to DIY with seniors.

Hi there, I went to Lijiang in August, and I got quite a bit of rain, and they had have loads of rain the days before. It was not cold though. Lijiang is very pretty, you'll like it, I'm sure, and in my opinion DIY also with seniors is very much doable.

April, May, September-November are Spring n' Autumn period...so will be nice to visit. End July to beginning of August might be a bit too wet, as it's the rainy season.
December is not too bad, but will be really cold up on the snow mountains.
Depends on how old your folks are and how mobile, I think Lijiang is very much accessibly by foot. The old city is totally stone-paddled streets, so it might be difficult for some old people. So far, I've brought people in their 50s and 60s and they have no complaints.
You can hire a transport to take you up to the Snow mountain. Entrance fees and cable cars are not included in the transport.
