| Curitiba | Curitiba - Morretes - Florianopolis Posted: Tue February 14, 2006 08:56 PM UTC
I would like to take the train from Curitiba to Morretes, is it possible to buy the tickets on the departure day or the day before or is it necessary to book them in advance?
After the arrival in Morretes I would like to continue my journey to Floripa, are there public buses? Is it easy to do this trip in one day? Thank you Alex |

yes , you can buy the tickets on the departure day or the day before; for the bus I'd get off the train in Paranagua for lunch and take a bus to Floripa.I don't know much about distances and bus schedules.

You can definitely buy you train tickets the same day at the train station. Just be aware that on weekends, especially during peak vacation periods, it can get pretty crowded. Weekdays, you are likely to be in a train car full of school children (who are delightful--they laugh and scream at the top of their lungs every time the train goes through a tunnel!)
You should be able to get a bus from either Morretes or Paranagua to Florianopolis...I have not been to Floripa, but from what I gather it is probably about a 1.5 to 2 hour bus ride more or less from Morretes or Paranagua. You MUST eat barreado; many choices in Morretes; but I've not been to Paranagua so not familiar with restaurants there. Enjoy your trip! --Vera
