Drunken Banter trip
Posted: Sat May 24, 2003 02:52 PM UTC
hi
Me and a group of friends could be coming over to Cardiff in July and i'd like to know about the budget accomodation in Cardiff. Are there many hostels or decent B&B's that accept drunken northern irish people coming back late? also are they situated near the city centre?
Finally any tips about good nights out drinking? Any decent indie/rock clubs? Check out my Copenhagen travelogue for idea of what we're after.
Keep it banter

Thanks

Dave

Don't really want to be responsible for inflicting some poor hotel with you lot, but you might want to try the small hotels/B&B's on Newport Road..they're mostly the type that have signs saying 'Contractors welcome', and I think some of them have their own bars (try www.yell.com and search for hotels in postcode CF24.) They're also in easy staggering distance from town (or £4 in a taxi). Decent rock clubs - I would suggest Metro's or Bar Fly. check out http://www.cardiff.ukpub.net/central.html for details and reviews or http://www.clubmetropolitan.com/ or http://www.barflyclub.com

Thanks for the tips.
Some random guest house is having us inflicted upon them, so accomodation is arranged, as i'm sure you're delighted to hear.
Cheers
Dave
