| Queenstown | Car Hire Posted: Tue February 7, 2006 06:25 AM UTC
Hi All
I will be going to Queenstown in May for 7 nights. Is it worth hiring a car for the whole trip? We plan to do all teh adventure activities... |

It certainly depends on what you plan to do in Queenstown. Do you plan activities at your own and may require transport or are you planning lots of day trips with activity companies? All activity companies usually have free pick-ups.
Queenstown is also a hilly area. Some hotels and apartments are farther away from the town centre and may need some walking. You can always hire a car in Queenstown when you need one.

The companies will offer free pick up from your accommodations when you book the activities. So there is no need to get a hired car.
When you want to explore other less accessible parts of Queenstown and the surrounding towns, you can easily get a hired car. There are many great rental companies there. For trips into the town centre from your accommodations, if it is not too far....you can walk (fresh air and exercise) or book a taxi. It saves money, money which you need for all those adventurous activities that you are planning!
