Bermuda Cheap place in Bermuda?
Posted: Mon February 6, 2006 10:57 PM UTC
With the arrival of jet blue starting this May I believe, Bermuda has become more of an option to go to for me. What's the cheapest place on the island to stay in for a single guy? Any youth hostels I don't know about?

I think this will become an oxymoron. jet Blue to Bermuda. It will probably used by mostly locals that have a home to go to. I don't know of any hostels or cheap hotels. good luck

That's because there aren't any Dave. ;O)

The least expensive hotel you'll find is the Rosedon in Hamilton. It's convenient, but far from 'cheap'. Remember, you'll have to eat too. That's expensive as well.

I went to Bermuda on a cruise ship because even with the low fares, it was still more expensive to fly and stay than it was to sail there and stay on the ship.

Someone recommended some B&Bs to me as less expensive than a hotel, but I haven't stayed there myself. Salt Kettle was one of them.

Yes that information was from 2004 when I was trying to figure out whether to take the cruise or fly. I didn't remember the names of the places that were recommended and was too lazy to look it up. But I did remember that one had Kettle in the name. When I checked it on the internet, I didn't see that it had closed.

I still think a B&B (even if not that one) might be a good alternative.

Old Rectory Town of St. George. Phone (441) 297-4261. Broad Alley, behind St. Peter's Church. 2 bedrooms. Bed & Breakfast. 3 nights minimum, rates from $100 per person per night in winter, from $150 per person per night at other times. this is as cheap as it seems to get in Bermuda.

A restored 18th century parsonage, a nice cottage with black shutters and with its exterior similar to an English country garden except that lime, loquat and spice trees abound. Belongs to the the Bermuda National Trust.

$150 is 'off-season'. It would be much higher now. And, that's if you can find anything. Cup Match is coming up, the cruise ships are coming in, and, unless you know someone there, good luck.
