Hi
I have done the trip. Expect narrow and winding roads. On some segments you may get stuck behind a truck and traffic will get backed up. In this case, you have to wait for a passing lane. They are, however, fairly frequent. It is a beautiful trip - enjoy! Carmen (wife of Romano)

Hi again,
Sorry - I was thinking about the Alaska highway to the north, not the Mackenzie highway. Mile Zero of the Mackenzie highway is in a small town called Grimshaw, about 5.5 hours from Edmonton. If you go to Grimshaw, the hardest part of the trip is staying awake. If you do go through Grimshaw, take the route through Whitecourt and Valleyview rather than Slave Lake; the former is much prettier. Hope this helps, Carmen
