My 22 year old son is in Nijmegen, Holland for an extended stay. He is needing to meet some people his own age to hang around with. Anyone have any ideas or knows someone who might be a college student or young adult he might hook up with?

Is he a student or working?
Is he shy? I mean, you're bound to meet other people while travelling aren't you? There are a handful of VT-ers who live in Nijmegen and are of the same age. Try the search engine at VT.

I could imagine he could meet some people when he hangs in places where they all go. Of course in that age it's all a bit dependent on 'style'. But since Nijmegen has quit a bunch of students, who all go out on thursdaynight, it might be an idea to do the same.
Some places I liked where 'Merlijn', 'Diogenes', 'Doornroosje' and a lot more small cafees. On tuesday evening some bars have free jam-sessions (like the Merlijn) the athmosphere is more at ease then. Mostly the people are friendly in conversation. Just one point... never give up and lock yourself away in your room, that never helps, sometimes it might take a while to meet the right people. Goood luck!! René
