| Amalfi | ferry to Salerno Posted: Mon January 30, 2006 04:49 PM UTC
We will be in Amalfi in May and were planning on taking the SITA bus to Salerno where we will be getting on the train to Sicly. I see that there is a ferry that goes from Amalfi to Salerno, could you please tell me how long it takes to get there? Also, will Mid May be considered summer for hours on the ferry? Or will they even be running in May.
Thank you, Jessie |

From Amalfi to Salerno it's about 20 minutes by ferry.
You find all info and timetables here: http://www.costadiamalfi.it/english/timetable_ferries.htm Greetings G.

The ferry is indeed a lovely trip and is short as per the schedule. If you didn't have a train to catch it would be a recommended choice. Unfortunately, the schedule and when the ferry shows up are two different things. The bus trip is more reliable if less touristic.

Thanks for your answers. Can you tell me how close the bus (SITA) stop would be from where the ferry would dock in Amalfi? That way if there is no ferry we can make a dash for the last bus. It would be so beautiful to go on the ferry but we wouldn't want to miss our train connections. One more thing, do either of you know how close to train station is in Salerno in comparision to the ferry or the bus?? Thanks again.

Good news. the bus station is a little place right across the street from the ferry dock. 4 minute walk. Never been to Salerno.

In Salerno, the ferry dock is about 15 minutes walk from the station, while the bus station is just opposite the train station.
Regarding Amalfi, it's like Nicolaitan said. Greetings G.
