Hi there! My husband is in the USAF and we will be moving to Cannon AFB, NM from Orange County, CA in march or April... I was just wondering if anyone had ant info or pictures about the city and what it's like. Any info would be helpful! THANKS!

Well, go to http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/New_Mexico/Clovis-834974/TravelGuide-Clovis.html and you'll see some 16 photos of Clovis by VTers...I can't speak to their artistic quality, however ;-)

I have just moved from Clovis/Cannon AFB to Denver/Buckley AFB after being there for 4 years. Clovis is a small town in the eastern plains of New Mexico. It's a good place to raise a family. It's very cheap to live there. If you plan on living in base housing, I'd try to go for the Portales 801 Housing. That housing is probably some of the nicest military housing. The local community is friendly. There is not much for single people to do in the area, the area is growing though. The base boasts a variety of activities for families to do. The area will not seem that much, but there will be a lot road trips and day trips to go on. The area is about 7 Hours to Dallas, 5 Hours to El Paso, 7 Hours to Colorado Springs, 8 Hours to Denver, 3 Hours to Santa Fe and Albuquerque, 2 Hours to Lubbock, Amarillo, and Roswell.
