Hello all,

Can anyone provide information on Nikko Ice festival? we would like to make it in a day from Nishinasuno. I mean Does the festival actually enjoyed in night? what are the activities.

One more festival starts in Early Feb. in Nikko please provide info on that as well.

Hello. I don't know Ice Festival will be held or not.

[1] Nikko Yumoto Onsen Snow Festival
Fridays and Saturdays in February from 5:30pm
80 minute bus drive from Nikko station (both JR and Tobu)

You can take a JR train for Utsunomiya, and change the train.

well, I got my answer this year.

1. NIKKO ICE FESTIVAL (Nikko City) END OF JAN.- BEGINNING OF FEB.
Incredible ice carvings are on display during this fantastic festival. These carvings are illuminated at night.

*Not visited the Nikko festival

2. Glowing Ice Lantern and Snow Dome
Festival-27th January to 28February Place --Kuriyama-mura, Tochigi

*Visited this one was worth it. The drive route was more beautiful than the place.
