I know my answer is hopelessly out of date, but regarding the tiles from Orizia I've had a similar experience. I bought some tiles at Espacio d'Arte Orizia in Sintra in November 2007 and paid for shipping to the US. When I returned home from my trip six weeks later the tiles had not arrived. I called several times and left messages with no reply. I looked up their email and sent a message, including all my order information and a scanned copy of my receipt (which I fortunately still had). Still no reply, but I did receive some tiles a few weeks later. The only problem was, they weren't the actual tiles I had picked out. They were similar, but newer and not quite the same. A few also had broken corners.
I don't think it was intentional negligence; I think Orizia just isn't organized when I comes to shipping. It's a one-woman shop and I imagine she forgot to ship my tiles, later sold them to someone else, and then painted some new ones when she realized her error. I can heartily recommend Espacio d'Arte Orizia--her tiles are beautiful. But let this be your warning: if you buy from her take your tiles along in person and arrange your own packing and shipping.
