| Angangueo | Monarchs watching in march? Posted: Sun January 22, 2006 08:10 AM UTC
Is march too late to watch the monarchs? Some say they are leaving beginning of march, some say end of march...Could anybody tell me if it really worth to go there middle of the month? We will have a car, is there anything else around to visit? We have only 4 days to spend in the area...Business travel break... Thanks and happy new year to all!!!

Time may vary for the butterflies, if driving so far, I wouldn't risk it really.
There are small and little towns around, nothing really worth unless you'd like camping in the woods with rivers or such stuff. Regards.

It all depends on the weather, if it warms up early the buterflies take off early... if it remains cool they'll be there.
If the butterflies fly for thousands of miles to get here it sure is worth the trip!!! Angangeo is a very picturesque mining town, Tlalpujahua is known for the manufacturing of x-mas ornaments, blown glass very interesting processes. A lot of small towns like that with their own identity. Outdoors are great, I grew up camping around this area, Google Anagangeo, Tlalpujahua, Zitacuaro and see what you come up with.
