| Peredelkino | Pasternak dacha in Peredelkino Posted: Thu January 19, 2006 02:51 PM UTC
Does anyone know if Pasternak's old dacha in Peredelkino still serves as a museum? I don't have much information on what happened to it after it became a museum in the early nineties. Thank you for any information.

Wow, thanks! Wasn't sure if I'd get a reply. Could you give me some info maybe, like how I would get there from Moscow, and what train station to get off at, etc?

Now, I myself was there 15 years ago, but I will try. You need to take a train from Kievsky vokzal (train station), make sure it stops at Peredelkino (next after Solnechnaya, must be about 20 minutes). When you get out, on your left side is Novoperedelkino, which is a part of Moscow, just ignore and take the right side, a bit along the direction of the train (there is one road as far as I remember). You first pass the cemetery with the church and also the tomb of Pasternak (it is somewhere in the middle, I will probably not be able to find it again), and on the very edge is the tomb of Arseny Tarkovsky. The cemetery is lelft on the right side, you go on and enter the writers' village, about 10-15 minutes walk from the station. Afterwards I do not remember, you basically need an address.
