Valladolid 1 or 2 nights for Valladolid?
Posted: Thu January 19, 2006 09:54 AM UTC
I'd like to visit Valladolid in March. We land at 14h and departure back to Belgium is around 15h20 the next day. Is that enough time to see the city or is it better to stay 2 nights instead of one? Is there enough to see/do if I stay for 2 nights?

Thanks!

I think 1 night is enough. The city has a pretty old part, but it's rather small.

Greetings

I totally agree. Valladolid is hardly Spain's most exciting city destination, although it is pleasant enough for a short visit, perfect as a base to explore more interesting cities nearby such as Salamanca, Leon or Burgos. One night should be enough. The old part of town is compact enough to cover in just a short stroll.

Have fun.

One afternoon is enough for enjoying a (short) sightseeing of the city. But maybe you can stay one day more and visit other places.
Going to Salamanca takes you 1h 45min from Valladolid in a train that is really cheap, and it is a really interesting city you should see.
You can visit too some of the surrounding little towns; Penafiel is 45 min from bus (with De las Heras coach company, 3,65€ single ticket), and though it is small, you can eat there a DELICIOUS roasted lamb and the wine that are so famous in the whole Spain, in a restaurant called Don Mauro placed in the center of the town .
If you are going to spend a night in Valladolid, you should have dinner in one of the beautiful typical "mesones"or restaurants and try our fantastic food. I recommend you one in the very center, "Los zagales de la Abadía", in Pasion Street
I hope you enjoy your time in Valladolid! best wishes
