Hi I,m heading to Vic Falls, Zimbabwe 2 weeks from today. I,m booked in at Shoestrings backpackers. Can anyone tell me what the general atmosphere is like there at the present moment. Am I likely to encounter any problems etc .Any advice would be much appreciated Many Thanks

Has the political environment worsened?

I was there 4 years ago. Other than being a lone female hassled by vendors, I felt pretty safe walking around town. And I did a lot of walking around. There's enough tourists around the locals don't make a big deal out of you other than trying to sell you stuff or exchange money.

Economy is unstable so exchange rates fluctuate greatly day to day. I suggest you exchange in small amounts.
