There's a few hotels in the city e.g Hilton, Grand Holiday Villa & Meridien. The first two are located near Nile Avenue whilst the latter is in the middle of the city. There are other cheaper options but I don't have any names at the moment. Hope this helps. Cheers!

It depends how much you want to pay. The top hotels are the Hilton, Grand Holiday Villa (both by the Nile), Meridien (near the central bus station, Souk Arabi, and not supposed to be good), and a huge one across the Nile in Bahri. Slightly cheaper, and popular with aid workers and journalists, is the Acropole, which has a good reputation. Around the Acropole, there are several similar places...all to the east of Souk Arabi. South of Souk Arabi are the cheaper places, like Hotel Salli, which has isngle and double rooms for about $15-20, and even cheaper places where you are given a bed in a shared room or courtyard...the cheaper ones don't usually have phones, so you can't really make reservations.

i think you should be able to reserve the top hotels, and places like the Acropole, on the internet.

Renting a flat...how long are you going for? I think most landlords will refuse to rent out a flat for less than 3-6 months. According to friends working for the UN, Khartoum is one of the most expensive cities in Africa for a foreigner to rent a flat, so it may not be worth it.

hope this helps...kendine iyi bak

Grand Holiday Villa'nin bir web sayfasi var : http://www.holidayvillakhartoum.com/index.html

ama sanirim ki biraz pahali...en ucuz oda US$170!!!

Acropole Hotel: http://www.acropolekhartoum.com/prices.htm
US$126

Can't find any more web sites or price lists in dollars, but here are a few phone numbers and prices in Sudanese dinars: US$1 = 250 SD (Taken from a guidebook written in 2004)

Sahara Hotel: (opposite Acropole, very central) 796541 (20,800 SD)
Central Hotel: 772949 (8050 SD)
Shahrazad Hotel: 783577 (10,600 SD)
Gobba Hotel: 784423 (12,750 SD)

Hope this helps :@P

The Acropole is a great place to stay if you want to get a little bit of the local flavor and yet be in a place that understands the needs of westerners as far as food and amenities. It's somewhat primative by brand name hotel standards, but quite comfortable and hospitable. I recommend it highly.

There is also a newly opened hotel called Bougainvilla Guest House. It is run by a Norwegian couple. Supposedly very clean, with WiFi, air-con and satellite television. The prices are a bit lower than Acropole. Bookings at bougainvilla@gmail.com.
