| Reggio di Calabria | Where is Sermi Crichi? Posted: Mon January 16, 2006 06:04 PM UTC
Can someone direct me to a good map that points out where Sermi Crichi is located? I've been told that it's close to Catanzaro...yes? Also, is this a tiny village where there's only olive trees and tomatoe gardens, or will I be able to find an apartment to rent with modern amenities and places to go out to at nite for a 20-something? Cheers.

I assume you're talking about "Simeri-Crichi"? It's about 6-8 km northeast of Catanzaro as the crow flies (but looks a lot longer by car ;-) ).
Look at www.viamichelin.com and enter Simeri Crichi as the town in Italy. I know nothing about the amenities in the town, sorry...but it looks really small, doesn't it? Bill

I haven't been to these two villages specifically, but I have driven through the immediate area and seen a hundred villages of that size and I know you will find them very very small. It's conceivable you might find a place to rent, but highly unlikely you will find anything resembling nightlife.
Catanzaro is a good size town, and the nearby coast is one long chain of beach resorts, so if you have your own transport you should survive.

Thanks for the replies. As it turns out, I'm heading to Kazakhstan instead of Italy. So, no long train trips to Torino for me... >8{

simeri crichi is a small town very close to Catanzaro, down to the beach
it's about 15-20 km from catanzaro lido (the beach of catanzaro)
