San Luis Potosí Travel Forum

I'm driving to San Luis Potosi (the state b/c exactly where is still up in the air) this coming weekend. I'm thinking about staying the night in Matehuala & taking the bus into Real de Catorce but need recommendations as to what to do with my car if I check out of a Matehuala hotel in the morning. Where can I safely leave it? At the central de autobuses? Or can I drive it into Real? What is the road like from Matehuala to Real? Thank you. Viky

Yes you can drive up to real de catorce as it is a tourisitic place!

the road is a bit dusty but you can drive through it.

hi... well, going to Real is a long and hard trip coz is more than 30 minutos in a rock road..of course you can take a bus from matehuala, the bus will cross you the Ogario tunel and from there you can star walking to find some hotel, some times are kids over there that can take you to an hotel, but if not you just keep walking the main street and you will find some hotels.. good luck and don't forget rent a horse tour...
