Is one side of Ischia better to stay in? Does one have more nightlife, ie...clubs & discos? Planning on going this June.

Hi Maplewood,
Personally I like the Forio part more than Ischia Porto (Harbour). You will find more nature and nice beaches. But in the harbour area there is definitely more nightlife. If you need an offer for a accommodation, send me an email. Chris

I have stayed in Forio and SanAngelo and loved them both but the next time I would like to stay in Lacco Ameno, the other side of the island has a whole different feel to it. But its a small enough place to go anywhere on it as long as the bus is still running.

Ischia Porto (the harbour area) and Ischia Ponte (nearby) have the most nightlife. You can go to the so called "right bank" (riva destra) and find plenty of retaurants, bars and discobars. Many others disco, discobars and similar are in the area.
Casamicciola, Forio and Lacco Ameno are on the northern part of the island. They are smaller villages, with less nightlife, but much more tranquillity and less crowd, and you can go to Ischia Porto in about 15 minutes by bus. In the southern part there is Sant' Angelo, small and cozy village with fine bars and restaurants and some nightlife. Greetings G.
