hey there, well I live in las palmas de gran canaria and i dunno who told u that there aren't nightclubs here because YES there are :p, there are differnet kind of nightclubs many of them with latin music like "burns, el cielo or la estacion" there are other one specially famous because is very cheap (arround 3 euros the ticket and u can drink 2 or 3 glasses of rum or something like this :P) called "paraninfo" is famous too because there go many "alternative person" ghost, punks, and so on, and u dont' need to dress "very posh" to enter there so many people just like going there.

This is only in Las Palmas, the capital, but in the south, the touristic place of the island there are thousand of places where to go out, europeans call it "the paradise" for something lol, there are lot of differnet clubs and discos where u can go, and it's cheap (at least for girls who always enter for free lol) they don't ask for ID in the south but they do here in the capital. You can go to "El plaza" a kind of shopping center full of discos everywhere i guess u can enjoy it a lot hehe

well there are more places but i dont' remembere them just right now :p, but just to say YES THERE ARE NIGHTCLUBS IN CANARY :P lol
