Petra to Petra from Jordan

It has been several years since going to Petra - can I still get there easily over the border at Eilat, in Israel.? Last time there were cars and buses at the border to take us there, is this still the case?

The border is very easy, no delays and the visa for Jordan is free, although you will have Israeli exit tax to pay.

No public transport goes to the border, you will have to take a taxi either to the bus station in Aqaba or directly to Petra. The cost to the bus station is 5JD (outrageous - don't leave a tip!!) and to Petra 30JD is more reasonable.

There are usually taxis waiting, but if there aren't wait a bit and one will probably show up within 5 minutes.
