I wanna moving to E.T, does anyone know about how i rent the house in Dili, the economic, the living cost, etc. I am from Jakarta, and wanna make a business (rice) in Timor.

Well, you might want to look into your venture a bit more. People are packing up shop now, not setting up shop. Lots of Singaporeans and Indonesians have had shops there because of all the aid money floating around- the East Timorese have no money. But at the moment the UN is pulling out and the money is drying up. Honestly, from my experience there, I felt it's ripe for civil war. If you're still interested, it would be best if you have family there to help you set up- that's what everyone does I think. GOing in on your own would be very risky at the moment I think- especially because it is an ultra corrupt country at the moment. And then you have the history of what Indonesia did in ET. I'm sure they'd treat you well, though. It's a wonderful place. You might want to contact the EAST TIMOR DEVELOPMENT AGENCY- They might be able to help you out. Search online for their info. I thin they have a web site.

i heard there is a travel ban now from Australia, ,the militia are starting to cause troubles, and there is massive unemployment (80-90%). The government is as corrupt as they come and no one seems to like Al Katiri- the PM. I was there 5 weeks but learned heaps- it felt like 5 months.

Are you crazy?! There are plenty of better places to set up business. Don't get me wrong, it really is a great place, but has been pulled down just how many times? If you are serious about going there to live, there are some fantastic places both north and south of Dili, and would be much cheaper to rent. A good business to set up would be a reliable dive shop / mountain bike hire place, much needed.
