HI
I was there last April in a Beach villa on All inc basis, and wish I was going again this April. Beach villas are fab,the best accom we have ever stayed in, certainly have the wow factor! we stayed in 259 which was to the right of the island looking from the jetty, right at the very end of the island (opposite end to the Sangu end)which was so quiet and took about 10 - 20mins to walk to the centre dependant on the time of day and temp. We were close to the Golf club and could use the bar there through the day if we didn't want to walk to the Akiri or Babauna bar in the centre. If you want good snorkelling, again you want to be to the right of the jetty (looking at the island from the sea) as this is where the house reef is and is abundant with sealife, including turtles. To the left of the jetty ids the lagoon where all the coral has been removed, making the sea turquoise but no good for sealife. There is a good beach on this side of the island in fron of the villas, less so on the other side of the island. Villas 220 - 240 run from the restaurant area to the small boat yard, and 240 - 260 run up to the top end of the island, which can be a trek in the intense heat of the day and night!!!! There was a different theme to the menu every day, and several choices including meat, fish and pasta aswell as the salad bar etc etc. We did not have to share a table as we have done so on other islands. Oh yes and the breakfasts are just the job to set you up for a day of snorkelling. All meals are taken in the Commas or Bonthi restaurant, you get a table and your waiter when you arrive for the length of your stay, but i you are not happy or fancy a change after a while, just ask your waiter if you can move to one of his other tables, eg, if you want o sit by the window. You can use all inc in all the bars including Sangu, although Cocktails, branded spirits and bottles of mineral water (1.5 litre = $2) are not included in the package. From what I remember the Kayaks are free of charge, but other water sports have to be paid for. Take plenty of high factor sunlotion, mosquito repelant, and a plug-in for your room, also books and your own snorkel gear as it is expensive to buy over there and poor quality, although you can hire it at $7 approx pp per day. No need for beach towels, but take a lilo if you want an even tan, as the sunloungers are the chair style ones, can't do your back! Have a look at my page for pics, If you want any further info please email me. Happy holidays. H
