Many thanks for your reply in answer to my question about train fares from London to York. I have been to the website you recommended to me, and have seen a fare advertised at £19 return London to York, but can't seem to be able to book that fare online. Is it possible to book this fare online in advance and also do you need a railcard in order to book this fare online? I don't have one unfortunately. Any help you or anyone else could give me would be most appreciated. Hilary |

Have just had a look at the site........bit of a nightmare, suspect the return fare quoted will only apply to a few trains (prob v early am/ late pm). Try the nationalrail site to get an idea of general costs.
