Rostov-na-Donu Travel Forum

Does anyone know the options available to get to Rostov from London by air.

So far, the only options I have found is London-Vienna-Rostov on Austrian Airlines and various airlines via Moscow.

Does any know what other airports have flights to Rostov - I'm pretty sure it is on the Rostov Airport website, but unfortunately,I can't read Russian.

As well as Lev I was surprised to find out that Rostov-na-Donu actually does accept international flights from Vienna, Prague, Luxemburg and some other. (See it for yourself Lev, they are big boys, aren't they? http://www.rndavia.ru/airport/flight.shtml). As for flights via Moscow, it's possible without changing airports since Rostov-na-Donu has got enough options from Sheremetievo and Domodedovo. You can find many possibilities from London to both Moscow airports. Try http://www.opodo.co.uk/, we use to fly to Moscow from London via Prague quite cheaply. Good luck, I wish you to find something to do there if the restaurants are closed for winter. :-)

now my knowledge of russian airports is somewhat limited. but am i right in thinking that if you flew into sheremetyevo you'd land at svo2, but fly out to rostov-on-don from svo1? probably it's really easy, really close etc etc, but if this is right, it's another hassle i'm sure inexperienced travellers to russia (like myself) could do without! possible better to fly into domodedevo where it's at least all in one building?

You can see many options: Gatwick-Domodedovo-Rostov or Heathrow-Sheremetievo-Rostov, but all variants assumes long time between flights. So, may be your option with change in Vienna is better.

usual way i done is arriving in Moscow, change airport and a new fly from moscow to rostov , after, rent a car, bus, railway or taxi

my wife family had fly from rostov to germany and germany to france, i don t remember ethe compagny, may be lufthansa
