I am planning to be in Egypt al the end of January
Somebody told me that Abu Simbel temple actually is in reconstruction and it is covered externally. Can anybody comfirm it? and if it is worthy to visit on this circunstances? Thank you |

The reconstruction is news to me. We were there in Nov. 2004 and it had recently been renovated. Unless something happened very recently, it's very much worth the visit.

I was there last month, not true... It was moved and reconstructed when they build the dam, but that was years ago. It is well worth the trip out there to see it. enjoy your trip. When they built the Aswan Dam they moved the temple piece by piece and it looks the same now as it did before they moved it. It had to be done if the temple was not going to be under water for ever. It is absolutly worth to go there.

I was at Abu Simbel in November and there was NO construction going on.
