Hello everybody,

I'm planning a trip to Svalbard next summer and am thinking of going from there to Murmansk. Does anybody if there are regular flights?

aeroflot flies to svalbard, so it should be possible.
you might have to go via moscow though.

Hmmmm, there are no regular flights... but there used to be - from Murmansk and Kiev (Aeroflot and Pulkovo). But there are some flights that bring people and supplies to the Russian settlements there, from either Moscow, Murmansk or Kiev. For their actual schedule if there is one you may try to contact LYR (Longyearbyen Airport)or tourist organisations in Longyearbyen (see my pages for references). The second option which is interesting, is to fly to Tromsø, take the coastal express liner to Kirkenes and a boat or bus/train from there to Murmansk. To shorten the trip you can also fly Tromsø-Kirkenes, to make it cheaper, you can take the bus all the way Tromsø-Kirkenes-Nikel and train from there to Murmansk.
