According to my grandfather who used to work there, Guelph has an ice hockey arena, is the birthplace of Colonel John McCrae whote wrote the famous poem In flanders field and 11 miles up number 6 highway there is the town of Fergus which is where the HIghland games of Canada are held everey year in August. Peoploe of Scottish descent from all over Canada come to participate in these games where the Caber is tossed, the hammer is thrown, many pipe bands compete and there is heaps of highland dancing. Fergus is only 90 miles from Niagra Falls.
