we are planning to visit mcleod ganj & surrounds during the month of march next year and are looking for long term accommodation during that time.
any feedback & information would be greatly appreciated. moreover, what is the best mode of transportation to reach mcleod ganj from delhi? |

Hi! I can not tell you about getting accommodation on long term basis but Going to Dharamshala from Delhi is easy.Every night buses start from Majnu ka Tila(New Name is Aruna Nagar)Tibetan Refuge Camp.This place is near to Inter State Bus Terminal(popularly known as ISBT).Buses start in the night around 10pm and reach at Dharamshala in the morning.These buses are privatly buses.You can get state own buses too from ISBT.

hello
as far as long term accommodation goes there are many options. From hotels to caves in the hills. I expect you will have little difficulty in finding somewher. remember to haggle. Mcleod ganj in the winter months is very clod so ensure that you have heating I always reserve a room via the internet so that i can just rest when i arrive. To recuperate from jet lag and sometimes 12 hours by a very very bumpy road from delhi. furthermore some bus drivers are infamous for breakneck speeds and dangerous driving. I would not travel by bus and im a frequent traveller to Mcleod ganj. Another option is the Jammu mail train that leaves Delhi at 9pm-check-and you can reserve a sleeping car, these are shared with strangers but they are good value clean and air conditioned. it takes about 12 hours overnight to Pathankot then you have a 3 hor taxi journey. I like the train as its usually safer more secure for luggage and its possible to sleep. I hope this helps have a good time bloooer
