I've not yet been to Würzburg but it is said to have a nice castle area. However, I have been to nearby Nürnberg (Nuremberg) which is a great city full of history! Also close is the World Heritage city of Bamberg with its smoky beer (Rauchbier). Check those out on VT pages if you plan to stay longer than just for checking out Würzburg.

Würzburg to Amsterdam
Travel time by ICE train 5:22
Single ticket ICE 2nd class is EUR 114,20.
IC+RE trains 7,5-8,5 hours. EUR 88,60.
Closest airports are Nuremberg and Frankfurt. But no budget flights from these airports to Amsterdam.

Hey there!
You should DEFINITELY go to eat Pizza at the 'Blaue Grotte', which was Germany's first Pizzeria ever. It tastes delicious (I am sooooooo hungry, you can imagine) and the ambiente is simply great!
Saludos from Mexico,
Anna
